NYC Premiere

OK everyone, watch out because I am going to be at the New York City Premiere of "I'm Going to Tell You a Secret" Madonna's new documentary filmed during last summer's Re-Invention tour. There is a chance that I am even in the movie. The movie will be on MTV on friday night so everyone should definitely watch it.

Also, Madonna's new single HUNG UP comes out tomorrow. It is really catching tunes and critics are calling it one of the best of her whole career. Her New Album, CONFESSIONS ON A DANCEFLOOR is realeased on November 15, and again the praise is endless. I remember when her last album came out, and we were starting the war on Iraq. Madonna was outspoken about it and really voiced her opinion on her album. The music was too preachy. This new album is Madonna back to her roots, making fun classic tunes. Think Like a Prayer meets Ray of Light.

So Look out for me because I'm going to be following her everywhere. In November I will be in London for the album Launch. The day of the release I will be watching her perform EVERYBODY in the same nightclub where she performed that same song almost 25 years ago at her first perfmance in the UK. It is going to be amazing.

And all of this is really making me go through a period of self-reflection. I am starting to see how the world works and that if there is a will there is a way. I can honestly say that crawling closer to the light. My message is this: NOTHING FAILS. If you want it badly enough, your dreams can come true.

So peace and love to every one as the fall months shake the leaves from the trees. Only 9 months til summer!

why is it that for every good thing in your life you are given you must also be handed something bad. And why is it then when you are handed something bad, there's not usually a good thats attatched to it. I sometimes feel like I must be one of the most emotionally unstable person in the world. Why to choose to ignore signs and then come to a huge realization that the hurtings about to begin? that just fucking sucks. I hate being hurt.

Hello Ms. Cho- I'm not sure if you will ever read this or even take my thoughts into consideration, but I was just writing to say that I was very offended by the small portion of your presentation that I stayed for at the University of Texas at Dallas this past weekend. Obviously your thoughts were discussed widely by the students of the university in that they were extremely controversial and offensive to a few students. I did find parts of your presentation interesting and perhaps thought provoking, however I don't think it was necessary that you used the language that you did.

While many students may have found it funny to hear you making remarks using this language, a few of us had to cover our ears and quietly leave. You may find it appalling to know that some audience members had no idea your presentation would be this provocative. I know a few students who didn't even know what "pussy" meant. I am saddened that you have inserted that word into their vocabulary.

I understand that you may have a lot of anger built up inside about the world and what it has become. I even think it's a good idea to point these things out, poke fun at them and have a good laugh. I mean you're right; the Terminator is governor of California. But why add to the already vulgar world we live in? If you're so much against all these bad things why not make fun of them in a clean way? To me, you have less credibility when you use such offensive language. Many of the students that will one day make a difference and perhaps create a "revolution" for the better are not the ones that cuss and use vulgar language. They are the ones who use little vulgar language, who are intelligent and more controlled than to express their emotions about things so irrationally. Cussing does little if anything for the way things are around us. It simply adds to the already dirty world. What about students that take action instead of simply speaking out? I think if you target this type of audience you will have more success in your lecturing. Rather than letting students have a good laugh, perhaps you will inspire some creative individuals to pursue a better generation for themselves and perhaps you and maybe even your children.

As a renowned speaker, I hope you will take my comments as constructive criticism. As for my opinions on vulgar language and why it is wrong, that is another long story. I'd be happy to receive any correspondence from you or your affiliates concerning matters in this letter. Thank you for your time.

I am so fucking sorry that you don't get what I am trying to accomplish but I was raised to 'cuss' and therefore it is as hard to break as any habit - like oh - I don't know, fucking being a fucking judgmental fuck. I appreciate your fucking righteous attitude and thank you for being so fucking honest. I really think that it is weird that pussy is something that kids don't know. OK, so I have gotten a few emails, a few ims, and I few phone calls regarding my experience with Madonna this past weekend. Hopefully this weekend will clear up all of your questions.

For the past two weeks, I have been devoting my entire life to meeting Madonna. I read on a Madonna news site that it was rumored that M would be doing an appearance at Barnes and Noble at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan. I immediately called Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, who wouldn't give me any information. I then called her Manager, Caresse Henry's office. Her assistant said that she would call me back when she got any info. Lo and behold, that very evening, she called me back to let me know that M would be doing a book signing at B&N to promote her new book, "The English Roses," on September 29, she also said that it would be a first come, first serve event and to get there early.

Immediately I called my friends Wendi and Kristin, who I met at Tower Records last time I met Madonna. They are from Baltimore. For the next two weeks, we called Madonna's manager's office, her publicist's office, and the publisher of the book -- every day! They were so sick of us, but thought it was funny that we kept calling.

By Tuesday before the event (9/23) we had heard nothing and were getting worried. By the next day, the New York Times ran a full page ad announcing the appearing. It stated: "Customers will be admitted to this event by lottery. This event will be a receiving line to meet Madonna. One pre-signed copy of The English Roses per ticketed customer." To say the least, we were devastated. We were planning on camping out. I had already bought a plane ticket to come home! We called the number they gave us and entered the lottery. Only Kristin won. Now Wendi and I were out of luck. We called our 3 contacts and Madonna's Manager's office pulled through.

On Friday, in the taxi on the way to the airport, Wendi called me and said, "Are you sitting down. Kelly from Caresse's office just emailed me. We are on the VIP list," she read all sorts of instructions. We were invited guests of Madonna's and we were to be on our best behavior. We were freaking out. Not only would we meet Madonna, but we would do it in style. Not like at Tower where we were exhausted and could wait to go home.

So totally psyched, I get on the plane and get home by 11pm to CT. That night, I was so excited, I couldn't sleep. At 6am I decided to hed for Baltimore, as planned, to meet with Wendi and Kristin (who I hadn't seen in 5 months). I got there around 1pm and we hung out and did Madonna stuff for a long time. The next morning we headed back to Manhattan.

We stayed at the Omni-Berkshire right down the street from Barnes and Noble. That night (Sunday) we went to the store to check it out. They had this whole Madonna display in the window and we could see a section of the store blacked out. We were so excited.

We woke up bright eyed and busy tailed on Monday, knowing that we would be seeing the queen again. We went to the store at about 10am to see if there was a line, and surprise surprise, there was. But we didn't care, we had VIP passes. So Kristin went into line, and Wendi and I hung out until 1:30 when we had to go in.

After this, everything gets kind of blurry. I remember we walked into the store, got our VIP passes and wristbands, and then went upstairs to the VIP area. We were greeted by Kelly (the manager's assistant) who told us to be on our best behavior. We thanked her profusely for the opportunity she gave us. She told us that Madonna would be arriving at 2:30 and to just hang out and enjoy. Madonna didn't show up until 4:00. With our VIP passes we were able to follow Madonna wherever she went. She started in the VIP area and gave a quick greeting to everyone, had some makeup done and then went into another area of the VIP area where she did some interviews with Access Hollywood, ET and MTV. She then went downstairs to do a reading from the book for children. Then she did the receiving line. She was absolutely radiant meeting with all her fans. She was smiling and laughing the whole time and we felt like pigs in shit sitting and watching Madonna for almost 3 hours.

Once this was over, Madonna went to freshen up while she waited for some people to set up for more interviews. During this time, we asked her manager if we would be able to meet her. She told us she'd see what she could do. 10 minutes later, Madonna came and sat down with us to have a 5 minute conversation. Most of the conversation is a blur. I know that we talked about her world tour next year, her book, her play, my tattoo (see: http://members.aol.com/billy3785/tat2.jpg) and Like A Virgin at Tower Records. I said to her, "Thank you for taking my request at Tower Records" and she looked at me like, "what?". Then Caresse told her, "Billy was the one who requested LAV at Tower". She looked at me and said "Oh that was you?". It was just surreal, the whole experience with her.

When she told us she needed to go, I asked her for a hug, and I was surprised with my hug and kiss that she gave us. I kissed MADONNA! We left the room and I felt extremely nauseous. I had been shaking the entire time I was with her. I was not calm and collected by any means. I went into the street and puked all over 5th Ave.

Then we went back to the hotel, checked out, said good-bye and I went back to CT.
Today I am back in New Orleans.

So There's my trip. Sorry for boring you. I know that this little summary could never do justice to the real thing, LOL.
